Our GPA calculator can help you calculate your weighted and/or unweighted GPA!
This allows you to achieve an overall view of where your academic candidacy stands in comparison to other students. More importantly, it will show how competitive you are — or how competitive you can be with further study or tutoring support — in the college admissions process.
A weighted GPA is calculated after adding extra points for Honors or Advanced Placement (AP)courses. Instead of being out of a 4.0 scale, weighted GPAs are are on a 5.0 scale. For example, an A on the weighted scale is worth 5 points rather than 4, and a B is worth 4 points than 3, so the overall GPA can exceed 4.0.
Many schools in the US use a letter grading system, with a corresponding letter grade, for example, an A or B or C. Your unweighted GPA, which is measured on a scale from 0 to 4.0, is the cumulative average of the grades in all of your subjects and is calculated by dividing the total amount of grade points earned by the total amount of credit hours attempted.
Using the calculator is simple! All you need to do is fill in all your high school grades for each class you took.
Once you have received your converted weighted and/or unweighted GPA, you will be on the road to carving out your own journey towards top college admissions — the first step being maximizing your academics to lift your overall candidacy.
