Where will my current score take me?

After each admissions year, US colleges often report ‘median’ academic scores of admitted students — including their recent admits’ average GPA. It is important to remember that these scores represent the middle 50% of accepted students, and that some successful applicants will have had GPAs above this score while others would have reported scores below it. While all elements of your holistic US application are important (academics, extracurriculars, essays, teacher recommendations etc), your academics keep you in the applicant pool as admissions officers narrow down on other aspects of your application.

How to maximise your academics and create the perfect application?

Applying to US universities is not a straightforward process. The Common Application is designed so that admissions officers can truly get to know each applicant personally, and in doing so, evaluate whether or not they are the right fit for their university. The best way to increase your academic candidacy is to improve your NCEA and in turn your GPA! Expert tutoring is a great way to increase your chances of admission, as is working with US experts who support you every step of the way.
