How hard is it really to get financial aid?

Talking in terms of need sensitive colleges, would you half or quarter or eighth the acceptance rate if one was intl and needing fin aid?

And if so, how can one go about preparing for this process? When to start filling out the forms and what is needed?

Hi @anonymous68!

Please fire a summary of your candidacy to j.beaton@crimsoneducation.org. This should include a CV, summary of your academic grades and any extra-curriculars. The acceptance rate for international students needing aid varies considerably based on what tier of need aware colleges you are applying so I’ll need some more specific background on you before I can give crunchy advice.

Regarding forms - they’re typically due on February 1st (a month after the Common App deadline). They’re quite comprehensive and essentially ask about every relevant detail of your and your parents’ financial situation (income, assets, liabilities).
