How difficult is it to get financial aid as an international undergraduate?

It’s tough enough to get accepted to quality schools as an international, but does financial aid requirements impact your chances?

The answer to your question would have to depend on whether the school is need blind or need aware. This varies a lot for international students.

So NEED BLIND schools include Harvard, Yale, Princeton and others. This means that these schools WILL NOT consider your family’s financial status when deciding to admit you. Applying for financial aid at these schools will not impact your chances.

On the other hand, NEED AWARE schools include UPenn, Columbia, Duke and others. This means that these schools WILL consider your family’s financial status. Applying for financial aid at these schools will very likely impact your chances.
