01. Why Canada?
Many people are now choosing Canada as a studying destination. It offers many things, and loads of top universities to choose from. Here are some of the top reasons people are choosing Canada: It’s COST EFFECTIVE, as tuition fees are significantly lower than US universities; There are many options AFTER GRADUATING, as students will qualify for a 3-year visa and will be able to work towards Permanent Residency Status; Admissions PRIORITIZE ACADEMICS, meaning that there is less emphasis on extracurriculars than in the US, and that applications are extremely competitive; Canada is MULTICULTURAL.
02. Canadian Universities & Degrees
Canada broadly has types of degrees: 1) Academic Degrees, where Canada sits somewhere in between the US's flexible liberal arts system and the rest of the world's pre-professional systems. Students apply to a specific course of study, but then have the freedom to build part of their own path around what they are studying. 2) Diplomas or Applied Degrees, where academic study is combined with practical application to ensure students are ready to work when they finish their studies.

Unlike the UK and US, Canada does not have a single, centralized application portal. Instead, most universities use regional application portals. Because of this, it is worth checking the requirements for each individual institution you are applying to ahead of time.
