Where are Oxford and Cambridge located in the U.K.?

If I am choosing between these universities should I take their location into account?

Good question, Dan. I think if you’re thinking about choosing to either institution you should start by taking into consideration your personal preferences. They are both located in the south of England but can offer different experiences based on their locality. My Oxford friends who came to visit me during my time at Cambridge often said that they felt it ‘smaller’ compared to Oxford. This may be because there is a greater concentration of Cambridge colleges in the centre of the City, in close proximity, than the more dispersed nature of those in Oxford.

If you can manage to, I’d advise trying to arrange a visit to either or prior to deciding which feels like the best fit!
