What do I need to do to complete VCE?

What are the minimum requirements for completing a VCE? Is it a pass/fail system?

To earn a VCE (Victorian Certificate of Education) you must satisfactorily complete at least 16 units (either 1/2 or 3/4)

In these 16 units, you need to satisfactorily complete at least one Unit 3/4 sequence in an English subject (English, English Language, EAL, Literature) in order to complete your VCE.

16 units translates to completing 4 subjects with the Unit 1/2 and Unit 3/4 sequence.

Most people however will complete 6 subjects since this is the maximum number of subjects which count towards your ATAR.
