My school only offers NCEA - can I still do the IB?

I don’t think my teachers will let me take the IB but I have heard it is a great system. Is it possible to self-study these exams?

Unfortunately not! Firstly, in order to take the IB, you have to be a student at an accredited IB school. This ensures that the teachers are correctly trained to deliver the course. IB also involves more than just exams and coursework. There are 3 core areas which all students must take which are done independently by students but which are monitored by trained supervisors.
