How important is it to be a prefect?
How big of a factor are house/school prefects in the application, and where do I list it? Do I just have to list it as an activity and let it take up a space on the commonapp?

There is a space to list your top 10 extracurricular activities. It would definitely help to be a prefect since schools like people who display leadership skills. But if you have leadership positions elsewhere, in and out of school, that would also be helpful.
