For the class of 2027, Duke University only admitted 2,948 students out of a pool of 49,469 applicants, for an acceptance rate of 5.9%. While this marks a slight increase from the previous year's rate of 5.7%, this acceptance rate shows that Duke University continues to attract top-tier students from around the world who are drawn to the university's academic excellence and vibrant campus community.
The Duke Class of 2027 final admission results were announced in an article by Duke Today on April 1. The article reported that Duke had a higher number of applicants than last year, with 49,469 students applying to the Duke class of 2027, a rise from 48,061 applications in 2022 and 49,517 in 2021.

For the regular decision cycle, 44,589 students applied to Duke of which 2,148 students got accepted at an acceptance rate of about 4.8%.
The acceptance rate to Duke's regular decision cycle for class of 2027 was lower than last year's regular decision rate of 6%, but higher than the acceptance rate of 4.3% for class of 2025.
The regular decision acceptance rate was still much lower than the early decision rate of 16.4%. Based on these acceptance rates, we recommend you apply early to increase your chances of getting into Duke.
Duke experienced a lower number of applications for the class of 2027 than the class of 2026. Despite this, the acceptance rate was noticeably lower at 4.8%, compared to last year's 6%.
