Johns Hopkins reported their Early Admission Round I results for the Class of 2027. This prestigious university announced that 533 students earned admission in the first round.
"This group of newly admitted students represents one of the most talented, diverse, and community-minded student bodies in the nation. They have already shown their ability to make a mark on the world around them through their academic and co-curricular endeavors, and they're pursuing what matters to them in highly impactful ways," says Ellen Chow, Dean of Undergraduate Admissions.
Early Decision II decisions will be released Feb. 17, and regular admissions decisions will be announced March 17. To increase your chances of getting into Johns Hopkins University, we recommend you apply early.
For the class of 2026, the competition was intense, and only 6.5% of the 37,150 early and regular decision round applicants received the coveted admissions letter. The incoming class came from 48 US states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, the US Virgin Islands, Guam, and 63 other countries. The students also represented 7,774 high schools around the world.
Accepted students performed above and beyond in many key areas during their high school years.
|Number of Applications||Accepted Students||Acceptance Rate|
|Early Applications (ED I & ED II)||5,500 (approx)||822||15%|
Only 2,408 students were accepted into the Johns Hopkins class of 2026, with 1,586 coming from the regular admissions round. Most top universities have reported a downward trend in admission rates in the last three years, likely due to the COVID-19 pandemic, optional standardized testing, and an uptick in the number of students applying to college. As one of the most competitive non-Ivy League schools in the country, Johns Hopkins is no exception. Its admission rates have also decreased.
