The importance of the personal essay in your US application

The personal essay counts for 30% of your overall application to US universities. Admissions Officers spend approximately 15 minutes reading your entire application and most of that is spent on your essays.

It’s often the most challenging part of a US university application for an international student. The writing style, tone and topic are vastly different from the UK personal statement meaning extra preparation is vital.
