Crimson’s Commitment to Admissions Ethics

This past application round, our students were offered acceptances to the Ivy League, Oxford, Cambridge, and more! We are continually impressed by the hard work and integrity of our students and could not be more proud. How do we help our students while also upholding the highest standard of ethics? First of all, our goal is not just to get you admitted into a top school. We aim to empower each student to discover and develop their passions, interests, talents, and voice throughout high school and the admissions process. We want to make sure that each student learns the right skills and has the right tools to succeed well beyond high school. Our goal is to uphold the highest ethical standards. Here are a few ways we make sure we do that:

  1. We are committed to staying up-to-date with both national and international guidelines.

We are accredited and adhere to the guidelines set in place by both the International and National Association for College Admission Counseling (IACAC and NACAC). We have partnered with NACAC to ensure that we are up-to-date with national standards, rules, and regulations related to college counseling. We hold zero relationships or partnerships with universities of any kind as a company policy to show we are wholly on the side of the students. We do not guarantee admission into universities, and any company that does is likely operating unethically and/or illegally.

  1. We do so much more than help students get into their dream schools.

Not only do we support our students with their essays and applications, but we also support students with creating a list of best-fit colleges, career mentoring, financial aid and scholarship guidance, standardized test tutoring, extracurricular & leadership mentoring, as well as supporting students with different learning abilities and preparing them for a successful transition into college.

Our students head into college with a stronger sense of what they want to study and pursue, translating into focused careers at the world’s top companies. While in high school, the projects in which we support them to positively impact their communities show the power that youth have as they transition to full adult members of society.

  1. Our students work hard for their college and university acceptances.

Our mentors are there to support the students, not do their work for them. One of our missions at Crimson is to help our students recognize and utilize their potential. In order to assist students in preparing for applications, all of our students complete rigorous writing exercises and many spend between 10-30 hours of guided tutoring preparing for exams like the SAT and ACT. On average, our students improve their SAT scores by ~150 points and the ACT by ~4 points, all due to their own hard work.

Additionally, our essay mentoring program allows students to receive guided support and editing to ensure their writing skills are polished and stand out among other applicants with an essay that is, most importantly, in their own words, protecting the integrity of each written submission. We strictly forbid direct edits on student essays. This makes their work even more special!

Finally, we monitor all communications between our staff and students to ensure no academic dishonesty. We record all of our student mentoring and tutoring sessions and keep records of all student and staff communication on our Crimson App.

Crimson Education is here to help students get to the next level. It is our mission to support our students through the entire college application process, though the results are student-driven. We are passionate about unlocking our students’ true potential.
