When looking at university, many ambitious students turn their sights to the US - and nothing quite catches the eye like the Ivy League.
Ivy League universities are considered to be the most prestigious of all colleges in the United States. They include Brown, Columbia, Cornell, Dartmouth, Harvard, Princeton, UPenn and Yale. Of all institutions of higher learning, these elite schools are seen as the most outstanding and sought-after in terms of acceptance and graduation.
However, gaining entry to these fiercely competitive universities is not easy with some admissions rates as low as 3.4%! So if your sights are set on an Ivy League university, you will need to submit a stand-out application - especially as an international student! The question is, what makes a stand-out application and where should you start?
For this webinar, we have invited Columbia University Alumna, Soraya Beheshti, to take us through her journey to Columbia as an international student. Soraya had her sights set on this university from a young age and has lots of insights to share on what you can be doing now to give yourself the best chance of getting an offer.
Applying to top US universities is a difficult and stressful task which is why so many students seek external support.
Each of our programmes are tailored to the student and are delivered by a carefully selected team of mentors who provide focussed support with each and every aspect of the process - from university selection to essay writing and SAT preparation.
By signing up for this webinar you will get a 1:1 university strategy meeting for you and your child with one of our expert Academic Advisors. They will review your child’s academic and extracurricular profile, provide tailored guidance as to suitable university pathways and outline what they need to do to achieve their goals.
There will be a live Q&A at the end of this webinar, so bring your questions to the table!
Soraya graduated magna cum laude from Columbia University and is a member of the Board of Directors of the Columbia Alumni Association. At Columbia, she was awarded the Columbia Innovation Award and nominated for the Ivy League Hult Prize for her blockchain-based startup serving refugee communities. As a student, Soraya took full advantage of Columbia's global opportunities, learning Arabic in Jordan and Paris and conducting conservation research in the Atlantic Rainforest.
