Sya graduated from Yale-NUS College in Singapore, where she majored in Arts and Humanities with a focus on Film and Creative Writing. While she was in college, Sya worked at an art gallery in Berlin, took advanced filmmaking classes at Yale University, and interned at the Association of Women for Action and Research. She was also best known for keeping three ducklings in her dorm room.

Sya tutored both academic and creative writing at her college’s Writer’s Centre, helping fellow students with anything from Philosophy essays to personal poetry projects. She also has experience tutoring students aged five to seventeen in subjects like Math, English, Science, Economics, and Geography. After graduating, Sya worked as a Private Investigator, conducting surveillance in a variety of commercial and personal cases.

Before transitioning into her role as a Strategist, Sya was an ECL mentor with Crimson for over a year, aiding students in their applications to schools like Stanford, Yale, Parsons, Johns Hopkins, and USC. She has seen firsthand how getting into and going to college can change someone’s life, and she is passionate about helping students achieve their academic goals.

Sya now lives in Toronto, Canada, where she is constantly on the lookout for the best pork belly. When she’s not working, you might find her watching a horror movie with her eyes half-covered, or making something with her trusty sewing machine.
