The top countries represented in this year’s international admitted class include China, the United Kingdom, Canada, India, Singapore, and Ukraine. Admitted students from Afghanistan and Ukraine received additional support due to the unrest and instability in their countries.
The official announcement was made on Brown’s website and The Brown Daily Herald on Ivy Day, March 31, 2022.

|Number of Applications||Accepted Students||Acceptance Rate|
Two years ago, Brown University saw a significant increase in its number of applications. This year Brown received slightly more applications for its Class of 2026 than the Class of 2025. The consistent growth in the last two years is likely due to its test-optional policy, its expanding set of financial aid initiatives, and the major issues facing the world.
During the regular admission round, Brown received 44,503 applications for its incoming Class of 2026 and accepted just 1,651 students. As one of the most competitive schools in the Ivy League, Brown only admitted 3.6% of students in the regular admissions round.
While the number of applicants to Brown grew significantly from 2020 to 2021, it grew another 9% in 2022 to 50,649 applications. The chart below shows Brown’s application and acceptance numbers over the past three years.
|Class of 2024||Class of 2025||Class of 2026|
|Total First-Year Applicants||36,794||46,568||50,649|
|Overall Admission Rate||6.9%||5.4%||5.00%|
