Crimson students have achieved record success in Cambridge admissions with 20 offers (and counting) within the first couple of hours that results were announced. Cambridge is the oldest university in the English-speaking world and has consistently retained its position as one of the top universities in the world. Currently, entry to Cambridge university remains notoriously competitive – in 2021, over 22,000 people vied for 3,600 undergraduate places.
Our students have smashed admission records for the Cambridge Class of 2026!
Despite the decrease in acceptance rates, 22 students (and counting) have received offers to Cambridge! We attribute this unprecedented success to our teamwork mentality. Students, their families, and Crimson tutors and mentors work together to create stellar admissions-worthy applications.
Here is a breakdown of the offers by department:
…and many more to the other departments like Classics, HSPS and Natural Science.
While Oxford sent out their notifications two weeks ago, Cambridge applicants received their admissions news today (students can only apply to Oxford or Cambridge, not both)
The above comes as new data released by UCAS revealed a record 74,090 students had applied to universities/courses with the October 15 deadline (which includes Oxford and Cambridge plus most medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine/science courses). Of these applications, 26,820 were to medicine courses, making this course exceptionally competitive.
Supported by dedicated teams of strategists, personal statement mentors, interview prep experts and admissions exam tutors, many of our students have received offers from all five of their UCAS applications — Oxford or Cambridge being some of the last universities to notify their students of admission.
Overall Crimson’s hard-working UK admission year applicants have now received over 250 offers from top UK schools including University College London (UCL), Imperial College London, the University of Edinburgh, King's College London and the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE).
We are so excited for Crimson’s Cambridge-bound students and can’t wait to share their success stories with you! Keep an eye on our blog and website for more regular round admission results.
Generally, Cambridge has an acceptance rate of approximately 20-21%. While this may seem a lot higher than the acceptance rates of top American universities, it is important to note that there are higher barriers to applying to Cambridge – including the restriction that one student can only apply to either Oxford or Cambridge and that one can only apply to 5 UK universities in the academic year.

A Day in the Life of a Cambridge Student
UCAS recently announced that it would be making several changes to its admissions process from the 2024 admissions cycle. Most notably, the 4,000-character personal essay will be replaced by several short questions relating to a student’s area of study.
Here are the changes we can expect in the UCAS from the 2024/25 admissions cycle:
