About Megan

Megan is based in New Jersey and provides strategy to US-bound applicants based around the globe. She earned her BA in History and African American Studies from Princeton University in 2006, as well as her certification in secondary education. Additionally, Megan is an accomplished jazz saxophonist, having graduated from Interlochen Arts Academy, the world’s premier arts boarding high school, and wrote an award-winning senior thesis on jazz education recognized by Princeton’s History and African American Studies departments. Later, she earned her MA in History of Education from Columbia University. She spent many years teaching in independent high schools as a history instructor, and also taught at Montclair State University as an instructor of “Rap and Rock,” where she co-authored the music history textbook, These Distorted Times.

Since 2014, she has been active in college admissions consulting. She has worked with students from around the world, and her fourteen years of experience as an educator allows her to help students position themselves effectively for collegiate success at top universities.

Since joining Crimson in 2016, her students have been accepted at all Ivy League institutions, Stanford, Duke (including the 2018 prestigious Robertson Scholarship recipient from New Zealand), Vanderbilt, Rice, USC, Carnegie Mellon, the UC Schools, Oxford, Cambridge, and countless other top schools. While she has worked with students pursuing a wide variety of academic paths, her unique background in liberal arts and humanities, as well as the performing arts, helps her provide valuable insight on pursuing highly competitive programs in these areas.
