About Mason

Mason is originally from Los Angeles and earned his Bachelor’s degree from UC Santa Barbara as a double major in Communication and Psychology and a minor in Music. During his time as a student, he worked with Orientation Programs for two cycles, was a Resident Assistant in the university residence halls, served as a student ambassador on the Committee for Judicial Affairs, was President of the Multicultural Drama Company, joined Phi Sigma Pi National Honor Fraternity, collaborated with a local nonprofit organization in the Santa Barbara area, participated in the Education Abroad Program, and conducted research in the Communication department.

After graduating, Mason became an Admissions Officer for UC Santa Barbara where he recruited students, read applications from students all over the world, led diversity initiatives, planned special projects, and served on committees and boards to help students transition from applicants to full-time students on campus. In 2017, Mason left UCSB for international waters and became an English instructor, specializing in the IELTS language proficiency exam. In 2018, he settled in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam and transitioned from IELTS instruction to strategy consulting with Crimson Education.

With Crimson, Mason has guided students to top universities in the US: Columbia, Yale, Stanford, Notre Dame, Emory, UCLA, UC Berkeley, USC, NYU, Liberal Arts Colleges, and arts institutes. Most recently, Mason started working towards his Master’s Degree in Higher Education at Harvard’s Graduate School of Education and is currently based in Australia.
