About Hannah

Hannah graduated from the University of Cambridge with a 1st class degree in Natural Sciences, specialising in Plant Sciences. She grew up in rural Yorkshire, attending state secondary schools with little history of sending students to Oxford and Cambridge, so she understands the challenges of facing an unfamiliar application process. While at university, she volunteered at college community events, enjoyed singing in a rock gospel choir, and gained a scholarship to pursue a summer research internship. After graduating, Hannah spent some time gaining more laboratory experience before returning to Cambridge to train as a science teacher. Hannah taught in a secondary school for 3 years and particularly enjoyed supporting and mentoring students, which led her to pursue a career in university admissions.

In 2014, Hannah went to work for the University of Oxford, and in the years that followed worked in three different Oxford colleges, in roles spanning outreach to schools and applicants, undergraduate admissions, and supporting on-course students. She has an in-depth knowledge of the application process and has extensive experience of supporting students, from when they first consider university through to gaining their place, and beyond. Having worked as an admissions officer, she has valuable insight into what makes a successful applicant, and how universities make admissions decisions. She also has a breadth of experience to draw upon about college community and academic life at both Oxford and Cambridge, and other universities across the UK.

Now a Strategy Consultant at Crimson, Hannah is using her expertise to help students around the world explore their course and university options, and guide them through the admissions process. She is passionate about supporting students to develop the confidence and knowledge to expand their horizons and achieve their aspirations.

Outside of work, Hannah loves travelling, particularly in NZ, the US, and Europe - anywhere with mountains, ocean or a great pizza! She enjoys hiking and exploring the outdoors, and if stuck indoors she likes baking, art, singing, piano, Lego, films, and binge-watching TV series.
