Every Crimson student works with a team of admissions experts to develop their college candidacy, including:

  • Former Admissions Officers

  • College Professors
  • Subject Specialists
  • Interview Coaches
  • Project Mentors

With Crimson’s expert guidance, our Kiwi students become entrepreneurial go-getters, olympiad champions, published researchers, internationally-recognised future leaders, and – most importantly – top college admits!

What goes into a successful college application?

Top US universities assess applicants holistically taking into consideration your academic performance over the last 4 years of high-school, your extracurricular and leadership activities, and your personal qualities – such as your capacity for leadership, creativity and critical-thinking.

For Kiwi students to be successful, you must:

  • Strive to be top-of-the-class and take the maximum academic load possible. You should also take the SAT and aim to score 1500+ (even if your target school is test-optional!).
  • Seek out extracurricular activities that demonstrate intellectual curiosity – for example, undertaking research with a college professor, completing university-level courses, competing in internationally-recognised competitions and attending competitive summer programs.
  • Find ways to position yourself as an entrepreneurial leader – for example, founding a not-for-profit organisation, fundraising for a cause, launching a business or app, starting a club at school or running for your city’s youth council.
  • Write compelling essays that differentiate you from other students, demonstrating your individuality, personal qualities, goals and aspirations.

We support our Kiwi students in every aspect of their college applications – leaving no stone unturned to ensure they submit winning applications!

What are Crimson’s college admission results?

Without fail, Crimson students outpace the competition and secure offers to their target schools at beyond 10 times the rate of non-Crimson students.

In our 2022/23 cohort, 100% of our Kiwi students got accepted into at least one of their target universities!

But wait – it gets better! 53% of our Kiwi students who applied to an Ivy League university or Stanford got accepted! Compare that with the 4% acceptance rate of non-Crimson students and you have a pretty compelling case for Crimson’s power!

In our 10 years of operations, we have supported:

  • 795+ students to receive offers to Ivy League universities
  • 1287+ students to receive offers to Top 10 US colleges (such as Stanford, MIT, Johns Hopkins and Duke)
  • 251+ students to receive offers to Oxford or Cambridge
  • 4800+ students to receive offers to Top 50 US colleges (such as UChicago, NYU and UC Berkeley)

Does Crimson guarantee admission to my target universities?

The success of your college application relies on your effort, hustle and grit.

While Crimson cannot guarantee admission to any particular university, our track record shows that >99% of our students receive an offer to at least one of their target schools.

How much does Crimson cost?

Crimson’s programs are customised to the individual goals, strengths and weaknesses of each student. Each program is bespoke and can be scaled up and down as appropriate.

On average, most Kiwi families spend $18,734 NZD per year on their Crimson programs.

Does Crimson offer scholarships or financial aid?

We offer a limited number of scholarships each year to exceptional Māori and Pasifika students through our Te Ara a Kupe Beaton Scholarship program.

We also administer a needs-based financial aid program for families who cannot afford our fees.

When should I join Crimson?

The sooner the better!

The more runway you have to prepare your college application, the more equipped you will be to score some impressive admission offers.

Most Kiwi students start Crimson in Year 10, however some will join us as early as Year 8.

Will I get to work with Jamie Beaton?

Over the last 10 years, Crimson has expanded into over 26 countries, but for our CEO Jamie Beaton, no students are more important than his fellow Kiwis!

Jamie regularly makes himself available to Kiwi students and personally reviews all Kiwi college applications before they are submitted!

Every year, Jamie takes on a select-few Kiwi students to coach and mentor. If you would like to work with Jamie directly, let us know in your first meeting and we will look at the possibility of including Jamie’s services as part of your program!

Will you help me to secure local opportunities?

Absolutely!

Crimson is headquartered in Auckland and has a vast network of connections across New Zealand’s business, technology, finance, education and political spheres.

We actively leverage these connections to accelerate our Kiwi students’ outcomes!

I’m in Year 13, am I too late to start preparing for college?

No, but we need to get cracking! There’s a lot of work to do to prepare you for college. If you’re up to the challenge, we’d be super pumped to support you.
