NYU Admits Record-Low 8% of Applicants to Class of 2027

NYU has recently announced its admission offers for the Class of 2027. The university received nearly 120,000 applications for first-year admission, which is 13% more than last year and marks another record-setting number of applications. Among the applicants, only 8% were offered admission to NYU's New York campus, which is the lowest acceptance rate in the university's history.

It’s projected that there will be no racial or ethnic majority, with almost 26% of the students identifying as American Indian/Alaskan Native, Native Hawaiian or Other Pacific Islander, Black/African American, or Hispanic. Additionally, 19% of the admitted students identify as the first in their families to attend college, and 20% are Pell Grant recipients. The students admitted to NYU come from all 50 states in the US, as well as the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and 86 countries.
