Johns Hopkins Acceptance Rate For Class Of 2026

23 MAR 2022

After rigorous evaluation and consideration, Johns Hopkins University released its Class of 2026 admissions results! This year’s 1,586 admitted regular decision round students joined the 822 students offered admission in the early decision rounds.

The competition was intense, and only 6.5% of the 37,150 early and regular decision round applicants received the coveted admissions letter. The incoming class came from 48 US states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, the US Virgin Islands, Guam, and 63 other countries. The students also represented 7,774 high schools around the world.

“We’re excited to welcome these students to our newest class,” said Ellen Chow, Dean of Undergraduate Admissions. “It was promising to see what they were able to accomplish during one of the most challenging times in our history. They were pursuing things that mattered to them, whether pioneering a school program for suicide prevention efforts or researching contact-tracing methods during the height of the pandemic, many while balancing incredible responsibilities at home or working full-time at a family business.”

Accepted students performed above and beyond in many key areas during their high school years.

  • 91% had part-time jobs, internships, or summer jobs
  • 34% were involved in student government
  • 20% were first in their families to go to college

The official announcement was made on Johns Hopkins’ news center, Hub, on March 18, 2022.

Johns Hopkins Regular Admissions Results for the Class of 2026

Only 2,408 students were accepted into the Johns Hopkins class of 2026, with 1,586 coming from the regular admissions round. Most top universities have reported a downward trend in admission rates in the last three years, likely due to the COVID-19 pandemic, optional standardized testing, and an uptick in the number of students applying to college. As one of the most competitive non-Ivy League schools in the country, Johns Hopkins is no exception. Its admission rates have also decreased.

Johns Hopkins Early Admissions Results for the Class of 2026

Johns Hopkins reported their Early Admission Round I results for the Class of 2026 in December 2021. This prestigious university announced that 520 students earned admission with an early decision acceptance rate of 21%. Coincidentally, this is the same number that gained admission in the Early Decision I round for the Class of 2025.

"We are excited to admit this group of 520 students, representing one of the most talented and diverse student bodies in the nation, as the foundation for our Class of 2026," says Ellen Chow, Dean of Undergraduate Admissions. "They have already shown incredible academic and co-curricular achievements and a diversity of interests that span everything from the history of art and Africana studies to political science, physics, and engineering."
