Safety schools
Safety schools are those where your chances of entry are quite high based on your current academic performance. These should represent about 30% of the schools to which you apply.
Target schools
This is the sweet spot! These schools match your personal profile, and also give you a good chance of admission. At Crimson, we generally recommend that target schools make up 40% of our students' overall application list.
Reach schools
Reach schools will require some more work. They may be a great match for you, but in order to gain acceptance you will need to improve aspects of your application including your academics. At Crimson, we recommend that reach schools make up at least 30% of our students' overall application list. For students applying to more than 8 schools, we advise they add more reach colleges.
