The Graduate Management Admissions Test (GMAT) is the main exam used to assess your potential for business schools around the world.
Graduate business schools use GMAT scores to decide if you’re a good fit for their program.
Most business schools take your GMAT, GPA, experience, essays and interviews into account when assessing your candidacy for their programs.
The Quantitative and Verbal sections are scored out of 60, the Integrated Reasoning section is scored from 1-8 and the Writing section is scored using half-integers from 0-6. You will also receive a percentile rank for each section, which shows the percentage of the population you have outscored.
Your total GMAT score will be somewhere between 200 and 800 and combines your Quantitative and Verbal scores, but doesn’t take any other parts of the test into account.
Although the Quantitative and Verbal sections are out of 60, the highest score you can get is 51. You should aim for at least 47 in Quantitative Reasoning and 40 in Verbal Reasoning, which equates to a total scaled score of 710.
These scores will put you in line for the world’s most selective business schools, including Harvard and Stanford.
There are many top business schools that will accept lower scores, but with our help, you can reach your full potential and get into your dream university.
