In 2022, over 37,300 students applied to Duke, of which only 3,097 were accepted. Contrary to the increasing applicants' number, the acceptance rate dropped to 8%.

Courses in the Sciences and Engineering are the most popular at Duke. US News ranks Duke in the top 10 for their Biomedical and Biotechnology majors.

Duke has over 400 clubs for its students to be involved in. Aside from the traditional sports and art clubs, students can join scientifically oriented clubs to polish freshly learned skills.

20% of Duke's students are international and 85% live on campus. Students from the UK are the 4th largest group in their international student population.
